With theatre and performance at the core of my practice, I create critically engaged work informed by my lived experience as a working-class artist with a red-brick university degree, a neurodivergent woman, and a Cockney-born-refugee who became an ambivalently proud Brit.
Despite establishing a career that encompasses theatre, film and television - from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to fringe theatres and community settings - I face ongoing structural barriers in sustaining an independent creative practice. The arts sector, contrary to its reputation, remains one of Britain's most unequal industries.
My work examines urgent social and political questions through experimental yet accessible performance and has been supported by prestigious organisations, won awards, and resonated strongly with audiences who wouldn't normally go to the theatre.
While personal reputation and industry recognition demonstrates the value and reach of this work, the reality of freelance artistry means constant financial precarity.
