Scenes From A Climate Era
Gate Artistic Lead Atri Banerjee directs the European premiere of David Finnigan’s Scenes from the Climate Era. Four performers take us through a dizzying series of vignettes, packed with humour and heart, all tackling the biggest story of our time.
Stage one: denial.
Stage two: optimism. Solutions.
Stage three: grief. Anger. Despair.
Go through the stages, and then make a decision.
CRIPtic Arts: The Acts
A searingly honest, bold, and gripping piece of theatre, bringing together performances from some of the UK’s most exciting disabled theatre makers and companies.
Join us inside the walls of a bustling but dysfunctional theatre, where the acts are hard at work on their latest productions: a solo show about love, joy, and cancer; a comedy about the ways neurodivergent people are expected to sell their stories for the stage; a multisensory meditation on isolation and moon landings; and a dynamic live art show about empowerment and agency.
In a landscape of intense time pressures, and shoestring budgets, the performers are overstretched and under-supported. Perhaps we need an artistic revolution?
CRIPtic Arts, founded by Artistic Director Jamie Hale, is a disabled-led creative hub bringing the most exciting disabled creatives to UK and international stages.
TOTO KERBLAMMO!
Poor Effy. Sent to live with her aunt and uncle in a block that won’t allow dogs. What’s a girl to do? She smuggles her furry friend in, of course. Keeps him under a blanket. Feeds him biscuits. Ssh Toto, quiet.
But it can’t last forever. Effy needs saving. And Toto is up to the task.
Tim Crouch’s immersive new play is a tender and powerful story about listening, friendship and finding hope in the darkest of places.
Wearing headphones, the audience will experience Effy’s world through 3D binaural audio technology. Immerse yourself in a compelling live mix of sound and action, and discover the sound of things you never knew had sounds…
‘One of the most important writers and theatre makers in the UK’ (The Stage), Tim Crouch (Beginners) brings his signature blend of thought-provoking and experimental theatre to the Unicorn.
